Jackie Chan Opens Australian Science Center In Memory Of Parents

Movie star and restaurateur Jackie Chan opened the Jackie Chan Science Centre at Australia National University in Canberra on Sunday, March 9.Chan did this to pay tribute to his late parents, Charlie Chan and Lee Lee Chan. The star’s father died in a Hong Kong hospital on February 26, after fighting prostate cancer, and was laid to rest next to Lee Lee in Canberra on March 8. Chan and Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd officially opened the center the following day.

“My father passed away last week, so it is about time I did something for Canberra to remember my parents,” said Chan, whose parents had lived in Australia for more than 45 years. “I really thank you Australia and Canberra for taking care of my parents for 46 years.”
